The Jatropha tree have been under examination as a biofuel alternative. According to the energy department, this tree grows much easily than corn, and emits no carbon dioxide or even sulfur. In fact biodiesel from this trees has powered test flights some air carriers. According to Dave Wolfley, distribution manager for Dream Fuel based in Fort Myers, even though a farm of a size of Rhode Island can produce up to a billion gallons of Jatropha biofuel, still U.S. needs 50 billion gallons annually.
